Brightwater Lakes Holiday Park is ideally placed in the heart of Wales, the perfect location to stay in a luxurious holiday home or lodge, and to visit the wide variety of tourist attractions and destinations at your disposal. Our 30 acres of valley countryside and park facilities offer our guest’s only highest quality accommodation to return to after venturing on the Historic Landscapes Walking Festival held at Montgomery from Friday 6th October till Sunday 8th October.

An event debuting this year, the Historic Landscapes Walking Festival will feature 7 walks of varying time, length, and difficulty. You will make your away across hillforts, moated farms, castles, and ancient earthworks within the Outstanding Registered Historic Landscape area.

The most challenging walk (for any competitive partakers) can be located at the brand new 22 mile trail that takes you through parts of Offa’s Dyke, Glyndwr’s Way, The Severn Way, and the Kerry Ridgeway. If you plan to take your time and observe the wildlife, then the 6 mile canal-side walk is definitely the right choice for you. You can also choose from a 14 mile walk along Offa’s Dyke and the Kerry Hills, a 4 mile walk past Montgomery Castle, a 5 mile hiking trail by the Montgomeryshire War memorial, and an 8.5 mile walk that takes in Offa’s Dyke in its entirety.

This is an event for the entire family to come and enjoy. An exciting treasure hunt will be held, as well as evening entertainment at the first ever Oktoberfest, which will house a brand new beer called “Best Offa”, brewed especially for the festival by Monty’s Brewery, and feature live performances from Up All Night and the Guilsfield Singers.

Brightwater Lakes Holiday Park is your ideal location within the Gateway to Wales, and the perfect place to relax and enjoy this amazing, brand new festival, being only a 20 minute drive away (or a 3 hour walk if you are feeling daring!).
